Knit and natter for Remembrance Day poppies

The community at Codford are busy making poppies for display at the Royal British Legion Remembrance Day Service in St Peter’s Church Codford at 10.45am on the 1th November 2018.

They hope to have over 400 poppies ready for display in the Church.   This year marks the centenary of the ending of the First World War.

Codford has a long association with the Anzac troops serving in the First World War of 1914-1918.  There is a war grave cemetery at Codford St Mary for the brave men and nurses who died whilst stationed in the camp in the village.

Many visitors from Australia and New Zealand come to pay their respects to family members gone but never forgotten.
