Light up the Darkness

St Peter’s Codford joined in the fun of Halloween by opening the Church for local youngsters out “trick and treating” with their parents.  To counter the image of darkness and Ghost we invited the Children to light a candle on the eve of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. for a loved one who had died.  Often this was of a grandparent or an uncle.  Young people are a lot more aware of death than we often give them credit for.  It was an opportunity to explain about the season of “Remembrance” and remembering those who have died.  To guide the Children to the Church; Molly and her Mum Nikki carved some pumpkins to display at the Church entrance.  They looked fantastic lite up in the dark. Parents and Children also enjoyed hot chocolate and chocolate biscuits
