Successful new venture: Sundays@4

The Upper Wylye Valley Team’s new venture: Sundays@4 began on Sunday 16 February at Codford Village Hall.  Young people and not so young came together to work on a Banner depicting Creation.  We started with a short act of worship which included retelling the story from the Bible about God’s work in the Creation of our world.  Parents and children all got involved cutting and sticking and we ended up with a very colourful banner to display in our church.  Did you know that cows can fly to roost in our tree and fish have feathery tails?  Well they do now as displayed on our Banner.   There were chickens, sheep cows an octopus and even an eagle. We all had Great fun and we will return to the Banner thorough out the year as we celebrate the wonder and beauty of creation and think about how we can protect the world and reduce our carbon footprint.   The Church is currently working to become eco-friendly and reduce our waste and use of “single use plastic” God looked at everything he had made, and he was very pleased. (Genesis Chapter 1 verse 31).  We finished with the grace used by a class in Sutton Veny school and tucked into well-deserved sandwiches and tea.

We meet again on 15 March in Codford Village Hall at 4pm when we will be painting candles for use in our churches at Easter.  Sundays@4 is aimed at families but all children accompanied by a parent our welcome.  We begin with a very short act of worship and then do an activity together and finish with a simple tea.  For further details please contact the Rector, Rev Trudy Hobson or the Team Vicar, Rev Cliff Stride
