Parish News
STOP PRESS!
The Parish News is seeking a new Editor as Robin Culver, its current and much respected editor, moves out of Wiltshire and relinquishes the post when a successor can be found. The notice that appears on the front cover of the September edition is reproduced here:
VACANCY ON THE PARISH NEWS COMMITTEE - EDITOR
It is with deep regret, but with great appreciation for his contribution, that I announce the retirement of Robin Culver as Editor of the Parish News which will take place later this year. Robin has been the editor for over six years and has been instrumental not only in the development of the Parish News but has brought a unique skill to the production and style of our community magazine. Robin has moved out of Wiltshire and leaves the Valley, an important legacy, and a vacancy for the Editor’s post behind him.
Essential qualities in his successor include an affinity with the format, style and balance of the current magazine with an instinct first to maintain its high standards but always with an aim to improve them by evolution rather than revolution. New ideas are always welcome and a flair for technique, style, design and balance is useful.
More on the structure and ethos of the Parish News is on the UWVT website but if you believe you have what we are looking for and would like to apply to join this thriving local enterprise, please get in touch with the Chairman on 01985 850372 or email danddshaw@btinternet.com for more details. Interviews will take place in mid-late September.
David Shaw
Chairman
